ZERO DEATHS FROM CANNABIS OVERDOSE
Yea that's right, can't overdose on cannabis. Doesn't mean you should excessively consume. Too much of anything isn't good for you. I believe in moderation. Only use what you need.
MEDICAL BENEFITS
Cannabis has been found to be helpful to a variety of ailments. (And it's STILL considered a Schedule 1 drug). Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most used component of the cannabis plant for medical reasons, but there have been discoveries that show tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has medical benefits as well. The most notable CBD treatment, I believe, is the treatment of seizures in two forms of epilepsy; Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome. There has even been research that shows positive results with destroying cancer cells. Cannabis also helps with mild and sometimes chronic pain. Veterans that suffer from PTSD have used cannabis to ease their anxiety. On the other hand, sometimes cannabis can cause increased anxiety and paranoia. Each strain has its own unique benefits and side effects. More research would allow experts to really hone in on prescribing patients with the perfect strain for their sickness/pain.
DISPROPORTIONATE imPRISONment
There is no doubt that prisons have become over populated over the years. Part of this is caused by "The War on Drugs". People have been incarcerated by the masses; mostly those of the African American and Latino communities. African Americans are at least 4 times more likely to get arrested than Whites for Cannabis possession. A lot of those arrests are for possession of small amounts of cannabis. There are people in jail for having $10 worth of cannabis on them. In jail waisting life away while other people, mostly white, get to split billions of dollars in revenue from legal cannabis sells. This has caused one of the most devastation impacts in these minority communities. Families are torn apart and generations of lives are ruined. It's clear the justice system is flawed and reform is NECESSARY. These people should be released and reimbursed for the time they've spent in jail. Nothing can replace the time lost, but actions can be made to get them back on their feet. Especially with the expanding cannabis business. These should be the people with the FIRST job opportunities.
People really still getting arrested/still in jail while other folks making millions for the same reason... TF?

MORE REVENUE
More than 40 billion dollars is spent every year on the drug war. Money that could be used to improve the livelihood of the these low income neighborhoods, improving schools, city roads, etc. Cannabis, itself, has brought in billions of dollars in revenue to legal states which result in higher paying jobs, funding for city projects, and more.
CANNABIS EDUCATION & RESEARCH
Education is important. People need to know the benefits as well as the possible negative effects. People are using it without knowing how they can be effected and in some cases can cause harm. There are more components of cannabis that may be helpful and can be isolated for medical benefits like CBD. With cannabis being illegal, it makes it harder for specialist to do the necessary research on the plant.
CHARITIES
I think the revenue from cannabis sales can be used for charities and organizations that are focused on bettering human and environmental welfare. There are a lot of legal cannabis business that do this. The cannabis culture is full of people that want to help the world. I’m trying to do the same thing with Free Cannabis™. You can purchase one of the shirts available where 50% of the profits will be donated to charitable organizations.
MORE JOBS
As cannabis becomes legal, jobs are increasing in high numbers. There are numerous positions that can be filled from the cultivation process to the selling of cannabis products. There were more than 60 thousand jobs created in 2018. Jobs have also been created in related industries such as those used to create packaging and merchandise.
Hopefully, in future employment, MHD can offer jobs to some of these people effected by The War on Drugs.

CREATIVITY
Some strains of cannabis can be used to give you a creative boost. Not all strains have the same effects so it's important that you know which ones are best for you. With cannabis being illegal, it makes it hard for most people to know what they are getting. Most dealers have no knowledge of what they are selling so it's like getting a random drug hoping it helps your situation. When you find the right strain, it’s important that you take a dosage suitable for your needs. Everybody is different and the amount of cannabis needed to achieve optimal results will be different for each individual.
CANNABIS IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY
You should consult with a professional before using cannabis. But that's kinda hard when it's illegal... ya know?
